Keeps crashing

Sometimes (more often than not) Davinci will lock - not responding. From what I can tell there is no particular circumstance that causes this, it can happen at any time. It will also just close without reason, this has happened when the pc has been idle too.
I am using a gaming laptop with a Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti 4gb graphics card. I'm using their latest Studio driver released and installed on 26th Jan 2021
My laptop specs are as follows:
Device name MSI
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8750H CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.20 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.8 GB usable)
Device ID E34B401E-0766-4544-B759-42B036CE2C33

System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display
I'm an amateur and for what I wanted I thought my laptop would have been capable. (basic 4k editing) I want to be mobile.
My question, are these errors purely because my laptop isn't capable, or is it a software/driver issue?
In the 'event manager' error 1002 seems to come about most frequently. Any advice would be gratefully received. I'd like to upgrade to the Studio version but not until I get a reasonable level of reliability. I am considering buying a 2021 MacBook when they are released but would like to get this running in the meantime.
BTW I have no problems at all rendering. It flies through. I have used a monitor and can see that DR pushes the CPU to its limits. Is this the cause?
