Crashing in Davinci Resolve 16?

PostTue Feb 02, 2021 7:05 pm

Hey all I keep gettign crashing throughout my work and would like to know how to stop this?
Theres no save or backups of my work so i lose everything from my previous save

Could you please help shed some light on why this is happening?

I know this can happen when i go and look at a folder where I have imported a couple of brolls
but just scrolling through a folder of broll shouldnt make a progrram meant to be an editor to crash correct?

Heres my log
I tried generating it after crash but needed time to figure out how to generate it first

It's not normal for Resolve to crash frequently, so something is definitely wrong on your system. Staff can help with that using the logs.

That said, I recommend turning on Live Save. It saves every change you make instantly, so that when Resolve crashes, you don't lose anything.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Do you know where I can reach the staff? So far no one has replied here?

I notice that I get a very repeatable crash when I try to add a new location on the top L window under the Media tab

If you have the paid version, you can turn to support. If it's the free one, you have to try your luck here.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.
