Hello,
I used the tips from an article (I included the steps below) and edited a short video with no problems. Now I have a new project and even though I repeated the steps and the footage is HD like the one in the previous project, it is terribly laggy. Do you have any idea what could be the problem?
Since I can't post URLs, the title of the article I found the tips is is Five Simple Steps to Get Smooth Playback in DaVinci Resolve On Any Computer.
It says to:
- Under the Master Settings Tab, look for the section labeled Optimized Media and Render Cache. Change both to DNxHR SQ.
- Afterward, look below the Render Cache dropdown menu and ensure that the checkbox “Enable background caching after ___ second” is ticked. Also, change the time interval to 1 second. Once you’ve made all the adjustments, click OK.
- Generate optimized media.
- under the Playback menu, make sure “Use optimized media if available” is enabled. In the same menu, change the Render Cache setting from “None” to “User”.
