Add audio to single photo

PostTue Feb 02, 2021 9:56 pm

I am using DaVinci Resolve 6. I have, in the past, successfully added a photo to mp3 audio. But I am having problems today with this simple procedure. Which is the best format output for rendering this? I normally use either YouTube or Premiere XML to do my work.

I am trying to convert it into a video but:

When I use YouTube the audio does not work. Only the photo shows. I am wondering what boxes I am not checking properly.

When I try premiere XML, it renders in less than a second and there is no video.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been using this program for a year but am a beginner.

Thanks from Chile, Gregorio

XML is not a video or audio file, it's a command file to transfer edit decisions. You may want to cover some of the basic training for Resolve, offered for free by Blackmagic. After that, you may leave Premiere behind for good ;-)

MP3 can be a bit finicky, convert your sound to wave (aka PCM) and you should be good to go.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Jim, this was very, very helpful. I downloaded the PDF manual so that I can begin with some of the basics. I have found the full manual to be somewhat overwhelming, so this beginner manual will be much better for me. Many thanks from Chile.
