Unable to use USB audio device after suspend/resume

PostWed Feb 03, 2021 1:35 am

I have an external JDS Labs Element II DAC/AMP for playback on my Windows 10 editing system. While DaVinci Resolve doesn't appear to support its ASIO drivers, the default MADI support works fine... until the system goes through a suspend/resume cycle.

When that happens, despite having "Speaker configuration" set to "Use system setting", the rest of the system switches back to using the Element II... but Resolve doesn't use it until I shut down the application and restart.

Resolve has several problems with sleep modes and the general recomendation is to not let your computer suspend when running resolve. The audio interface is likely not the only thing that will break.
Resolve Studio 17.4.6 - Fusion Studio 17.2.2 - Windows 10
Gigabyte GTX1080ti 11GB - AMD 1950X - 64GB 2400
Gigabyte X399 AORUS Gaming 7
Intensity Pro 4k
Presonus 192 Audio Interface
Separate M.2 SSDs for OS and Resolve Cache
