I just downloaded the updated Resolve 17 beta 8,
I was excited to see in What's New description that Optimized media has been fixed, but I don't see that.

General
•Proxy media workflow supporting internal and externally generated media.
•Optimized media is now automatically available across projects.
•Generation of optimized media can now be limited to edit extents.

Could someone Please from the Tech Team explain what this means?
I don't see if my media have been optimized, same issue is still there.

Jason, thanks for clarifying.
I just wish they never mentioned the Optimized media, because it is not ready, I reached out to tech team by phone, they are aware of it and hopefully it will be working upon the complete DR 17 is out..
In the meantime I will use proxy media.
