Cut page Live Media Preview unpredictable
Posted: Wed Feb 03, 2021 5:36 pmOn the Cut page of ver 16, a single click would reliably start the Live Media Preview. On 17 beta, a double click is sometimes required. Other times Live Media Preview will not start. Verified on 17.1B Build 13 and 17.0B Build 27.
To reproduce: import a few clips to a new project (I tried 720p, 1080p/23.98 and 29.97 H264, also UHD 4k/23.98 ProRes 422), examine Live Video Preview behavior in Cut page, then switch to Media page or Edit page, use hover scrub on clips, then switch back to Cut page and try it. It will sometimes require a double click to start, sometimes a single click, sometimes it won't start. Sometimes importing a new clip to the media pane of the Cut page will make Live Media Preview begin working normally for a while.
Platform: 10-core iMac Pro, 16GB Vega 64 GPU, 64GB RAM, MacOS 10.15.7.
