Viewer scale

PostThu Feb 04, 2021 7:04 am

Hi there,

When I add clip in my timeline, everything is OK with viewer.
When I go in Fusion page there is problem with viewer, my clip is shown like it has zoom * 0,5 (check attachment)
If I go back on timeline page and check the inspector for this clip the zoom is normal: 1 and the viewer is also normal.

Now if I go in Fusion page again and add some nodes then go to edit page, I also see problem with edit page viewer, like zoom * 0,5 but zoom is still set on 1.

Need some help, any idea ?

Thanks
Païko

Fusion works at the clip's resolution, not the timeline settings. Is that a factor here?

What are your Project Settings>Image Scaling set to?

Thanks for your answer.

My settings for image scaling are the Davinci preset ones, I din't change them, they look like yours (see attachment).

But after some investigations, it seems that my pb is because of resolution of my rush (UHD 2160 X 3840). I have the free version of Davinci and it seems that this resolution is not supported in the free version.
If I check with 1080 p rush, I don't meet this pb

Free is limited to UHD, which is 3840 x 2160.

Turning that on it's side, the vertical then does exceed the limit.

In the screenshot I posted you can see on the Fusion page that the image in the viewer looks like yours. The reason I did that and asked about your scaling settings was to hint at what your problem probably is, that you should try the other scaling settings. One of the other settings would probably be fine with your existing footage. You might just have to reframe it or use some sort of transform to get it to look the way you like. In the screenshot below I set the scaling to Center Crop with no Resizing, that might work or one of the other 2.

As far as the free version limit, Fusion will act that way if you exceed one of the UHD dimensions but can be dealt with in the way described above. The UHD limit only applies to the final rendered output, not the source material. I have worked with images 7680x4320 without a problem, you just cannot output higher than UHD.

Hi Xunile,

You are perfectly right, I tried with "scale full frame with crop" and the viewers are now OK.
Thanks a lot for your help.

Have nice week-end
