M1 or Intel Mac Mini for DR Database Server

I'm looking to purchase a machine to server as a Resolve project server. I'm torn between getting a 16gb M1 Mini or i7 Intel Mini to serve the purpose. I'm interested in the former due to the lower price point and power consumption.
Database would be for running maximum 3-4 clients at a time, with typical average being 2. We are currently running the latest DR 17 beta. M1 Postgres published benchmarks look pretty good.
I'm leaning toward the M1 but I would be concerned about potential stability issues investing in a newer platform too soon, hence also looking at the Intel based machine. Has anyone used or tested the new Macs for this purpose?
