Numerous Export glitches

I've been using the Studio version of Resolve 16 for a few months since I bought it, I've been using the free version for about a year or so before that, all for my YouTube channels.

As I've gotten more into video editing, I've been running into more problems. Lately, my videos render out with a bunch of artifacts and it's getting really annoying. I can show you a couple examples of what's going on, and I'll provide what it looks like in the timeline. I'll provide some still shots, and a link to the video on YouTube, and the artifacts/glitches aren't YouTube, they exist in the source output render. This video has two problem areas, but every video I do has at least one of these artifacts or glitches somewhere.

All these examples are from the same video:

First example, apx 13 seconds into the video above;

In the timeline, I have a pre-rendered intro that I just plop into the timeline, I don't add any nodes or anything to it, it just gets plopped down and used. Overlapping I have some audio for a voice-over and music.

Second example,
03.PNG

Forum won't let me add a 4th attachment to this post, so I can't show you what the timeline looks like, but it's just the clip with it's audio, the voiceover track and the music track. There is a single color grading node for white balance.

Anyway, so is this common, any idea what causes this?

I see these occasionally when I use H.264 source media.

My preferred solution is to not use H.264 as source media.

Don’t run your exports at maximum speed and/or try/experiment with GPU rendering of H264s

HPz840 - 2x 14 Core 2.6GHz - 64GB RAM
Windows 10 Pro 2004
2x RTX 2080Ti (SD 460.89)
Resolve Studio 16.2.7
Decklink 4K Extreme (11.6)
FSI CM250
Panasonic FZ1000

I don't have much choice, my camera compresses only to H.264.

I don't know what that means, running my exports at maximum speed?

However, changing to GPU rendering does seem to have worked, at least for the 4ish minutes of video I have to work on right now. Thanks for the tip! It also cut render time roughly in half.

Many do.

What I'm suggesting is, don't buy such cameras. Or, add a Blackmagic Video Assist, which offers ProRes and DNx options.

when I have not optimal h.264 material to edit, I sometimes use Quicktime to render image sequences. These image sequences have each frame intact, and imported into Resolve there won't be any problems. However, it's not an ideal process. In general I work with BRAW where such problems don't occur.
