Proxies and B roll in Concert Multicam

I'm trying to do something that I think should be pretty basic but its not working very well. I'm trying to set up a concert Multicam with 5 cameras and a bunch of audience B roll . The originals are UHD and i've made 1920x1080 Proxies in the ProRes proxy codec. All this seems to be fine. I'm able to go back and forth between the proxies and the UHD using Reconform from Bins. All that works fine.

The problem begins when I want to cut in B Roll ( also originally in UHD and also w HD Proxies.) The B roll is a couple of dozen standalone shots I already cut, duped and labelled from the original camera roll.
I'm putting these shots on a 2nd video track in the Multicam and again all seems well at first. I can even switch both the original clips (Band) and audience B roll to the proxies.

However if I try to reconform the band back to the UHD originals they won't do it. The B roll shots will go back to UHD but no matter what I do I can't get the band shots ( that's the original Multicam) back to UHD.

It seems to me this should be a common situation.

Well I'm going to try all over again with optimized media as i have been advised to try before on this forum.

That's my preferred method. It just works. :)

Jim,
This is a belated thanks. I've posted questions about proxies a number of times and you always suggested optimized media. But when I tried it previously i tried 1/4 and 1/8 quality and hated the look. I couldn't really evaluate my pictures. This time with my back against the wall because the Proxy method wasn't working I set it to automatic and made the media ProRes LT.

Well so far its working! I can put my B roll on Video 2, make dissolves, color corrections and resize as i go along and even set up a mask to double expose from V2 to V1 (which I like to do) and it all seems to playing fine and looking fine. So far so good. If it doesn't bog down as I go along I will be very happy.

What's more the set up is incredibly easy. Make your optimized media and go. Turn the optimized proxies on and off with a menu touch. By contrast making the multicam with Proxy files was a PITA and troublesome. Could have saved a heap of time by trying this earlier!

Thanks. Crossing my fingers going forward.
