Unknown Deactivation of Studio License

When I opened DaVinci Resolve Studio 16 today, a pop-up that hasn't happened since I got the Studio version said I needed to activate my Studio License. I don't understand why, I've only activated it once, and to my knowledge, unless you're on a new device, you don't have to activate it again.

Is there any reason why this would happen?
Is there a way to prevent this from happening again? It says I only have one activation left.

The app frequently checks and if the hardware config changes the checkin is also to be expected. You always have two activations available do even if u use two, the third will reset the first two.
