Beta 8 Forgetting Effects?

Hi all, I am new to using Plugins ... for the last 6 months or so, DR has had all I needed, built in.

I installed Alex Audio Butler today, and I am editing some moto vlog footage. My normal workflow is to add a Noise Reduction effect to a clip. Now I'm adding the NR effect and then the AAB Voice effect. When I switch timelines [stacked] or switch projects, DR [v17 b8] is forgetting the plugins on those clips for some reason. If only one effect [either NR or AAB] is on a clip, DR remembers that.

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks,

-John

To clarify, the Noise Reduction is a built-in effect, or part of the Alex plug-in?

These are applied at the clip level, not on the track?

Does the phenomenon still occur with only native effects, no plug-ins?

Apparently I'm just an idiot.

The NR effect I'm using is built into DR17.

The AAB plugin is designed to work on the Track level, not individual clips, hence my problem. As soon as I removed it from the clips and placed it on the Tracks, it works just fine.

I was trying to be sneaky with some comparisons to hear what it does to voice and music, but in the end I just added a bunch of tracks to the Timeline and applied different combinations of effects to each one.

[ie, Original: no effects; AAB; NR; AAB+NR; NR+AAB.]

FWIW, the order of the effects makes a big difference, AAB needs to be the top one in the Inspector [first added] in order to function well with the NR effect. I found this out by doing the test with AAB+NR and then NR+AAB above]

Thanks,

-John
