Remove bottom Timeline

PostMon Feb 08, 2021 8:35 pm

Hi my esteemed Da Vinci listmates,

I’m able to adjust views of the Timeline but now I have 2 separate Timelines; one with a video in it and one blank.

I’ve tried X’ing out of the bottom (blank one) but ti won’t close.

Can you please share how I close the bottom Timeline?

Thank you.

Undo - options

PostMon Feb 08, 2021 8:36 pm

Hi DaVinci listmates,

I was reading you can’t Undo your last task by just pressing Ctrl + Z (like you can in many Windows-based programs).

That instruction advised the only way to Undo anything is in the Edit Page selecting Edit > History and choosing the tasks in the droop down menu.

But, that drop-down menu only lists about 14 undo functions.

Are you limited in that way to Undo a task?

Thank you.

You can, but "Undo" works on changes or edits made to your project, and what the OP is asking about is a change made to a view of the project. If you change something in how you view the project (open or close the Inspector panel, for example) that is not something that gets undone by Ctrl + Z.

To the OP: if you have multiple timelines visible it means you have the "stacked timelines" view turned on. This is controlled by the view opens icon in the upper left corner of the timeline. In "stacked timelines" view you get an extra bar across the top of the timeline panel that has "tabs" for easy switching between different timelines. At the far right end of that bar there's an icon (windows with a little "+") to add another entire timeline inside the panel. If you click it, you get to view two timelines at once. When you've got multiple timelines visible, there's an additional icon at the right end of the tab bar (windows with a little "-") to remove a timeline from the panel - that's the one you want to click.

Hi Sean,

The Undo I'm thinking of is you just touched the wrong key or key combination an d you want to return to the place where you were before you made that mistake (analogous to in Word you pressed the Delete key and then realized you didn't want to delete) what's the equivalent step(s) in DR to undo a mistake and return to where you ere before that mistake?

Thank you!
