Canʼt change duration

Change Clip Duration doesn’t work. Whether I right click on the clip or use the Clip menu on the top of the window, I cannot change the clip. And worse, sometimes it will delete the clip. What do I do? :?:

DaVinci Resolve Version 17.08
macOS Catalina Version 10.15.3
iMac (21.5-inch, 2017)

You need to explain in more detail exactly what you are doing, or post a link to a screen capture demonstrating the issue.
Resolve 19.1.2 Mac OSX 15.3 Sequoia, Monitor 3G, FSI SDI grading monitor.
