copy part of timeline and keep timeline markers?

PostTue Feb 09, 2021 5:45 am

I'm setting up a 5 camera Multicam concert in Resolve 16 using Optimized Media. I only need to use a few songs from the set and would prefer to extract those sections from the full concert multicam and dice them into separate timelines for each song.
I tried one so far and made it by just deleting everything that came before and after the chosen song and then just copying and renaming the timeline.

Quest 1 - Is there another way to just copy part of a timeline and make a new one with it?

Quest #2 - Is there any way to do that and. retain the timeline markers from that section of the original full concert?

Quest #3 - If I want to reverse the process and re- place the edited songs in a new final timeline , can I do that and maintain the timeine markers I've used while editing them separately?

Thanks - Lenny

1. Select the relevant portion, Copy, move to the new timeline, Paste.

2. No.

3. Not fully understanding the question.

Thanks Jim, That works fine. It doesn't solve the other issue which is that I would like to copy the timeline markers with the clip. If that's possible , let me know but I can make things work with Clip markers which will follow in copies.

Clip markers copy, timeline markers won't.
