Can't import multiple JPEG files into timeline.

PostTue Feb 09, 2021 2:21 pm

Hi,

I am pretty new to Davinci so maybe I am overlooking something. I am using a MacBook.

My first project is a time-lapse. I have 1500 JEPG files which I want to import into the media pool. I have tried to add the folder to the timeline but got only a few images. Same when I selected all images in the folder and drag them. Only a few images get added. So maybe something is wrong with the files? Now I tried to drag single images and now the images got added fine. I am to sure what to do now. Dragging 1500 images one by one would be a little tedious :-(

Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong?

You may have gaps in the numbering of the sequence. Normally, DR is importing sequentially numbered stills as a 'movie' automatically. You can tell by the length in the inspector.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

Hans,

By default, Davinci Resolve treats continuously numbered images as a video sequence of the appropriate frame rate (e.g 24 sequential images forming a second of footage).

In the Media Page, Media Storage panel (top-left by default) in the [...] menu , turn on Show Individual Frames.

This lets Resolve know that any clips you drg into the Media Pool should be interpreted as images instead of image-sequences.

The Resolve manual has more information on this (page 301) and other common workflows.

Thanks
Shrinivas
