Adjusting Color Changes Audio Volume and Stutters

I am using resolve 17 build 27 and when I am in the color window and adjust any settings in my primaries or curve section, my computer will stutter for a split second and the volume will go up slightly and the windows volume meter will pop up indicating that. What is odd is that when I adjust any settings in the color page, like the curves or primary, I hear a weird audio static play as I am moving it. I am using a focusrite 18i20 interface, but still don't really understand why changing color settings would affect audio and creating stuttering in any way. I am using a new ryzen 5900x, nvidia 3090, with 64gb ram - so its not a system limitation.
