I have had 2 serious crashes while attempting to render a blurred area in Fusion. I cut a 15 minute long project with an area that I wanted blurred into 3 minute "chunks" and defined the area to be blurred in the, then rendered the first section in fusion. Then I moved on to the 2nd section, defined the area, then started the tracker... and my computer crashed so hard that I had to go into the OS and delete the cache manually.
Here are the specs of my computer: 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display 3.6GHz 10-core 10th-generation Intel Core i9 processor, Turbo Boost up to 5.0GHz 64GB 2666MHz DDR4 memory Radeon Pro 5700 XT with 16GB of GDDR6 memory 2TB SSD storage 8TB external storage
Questions ..should I, do I have to, clear the cache after every rendered section? ..should I add a 2tb external ssd just for the cache? ..should I add another 64gig of ram?
This instability in Davinci Fusion is a large pain in a place where the sun rarely shines.
I cleared out the cache in the OS, then cleared out the cache in DaVinci, turned off the second monitor, shut down anything that was running in the background - and tried rendering a tracker in fusion in a 3 minute long piece of video. It got 1/2 way, then crashed DaVinci to the desktop.
fusion-resolve has been unstable (to say the least) for years now already, with an exception for a small group of members here apparently. Many comprehensive forum posts including logs have already been posted. It's not a suprise that the motivation of posting more logs is hard to find

I sent the crash report to Blackmagic Design.. Here's the log, I very much doubt that it will help. I have sent an email to BlackMagic asking for a return of the software and speed editor as being unfit for purpose.
There is a new beta 9 update today with a fix for a Fusion crash. Maybe its the one you see. If you are using Fusion in Resolve, please post a link to the diagnostic log Resolve generates, from the help menu, or following the info in the FAQs.
The last few times I open DaVinci Resolve I get a message telling me that there is an update to 17.0b9...I download it, but it doesn't install - because the next time I open the software I get exactly the same message.
Tonight I tried to render the same piece of video that has crashed before - and it crashed ..again..this time it didn't even start to render, it crashed immediately.
