Export Archive with Just Optimized Media?

This is probably a totally noob question, but I could use some help.

I'm starting to outsource some of my video editing and would like to know the best way to go about getting files to my editor. I'm familiar with exporting and re-importing an archive to transfer files when I'm moving from my desk top to laptop for editing while on the road, but what can I do to get the file size down small enough so that I can upload the files to google drive?

My last video was about 350gigs when I exported the archive. Is there a way to do this so I'm only exporting optimized media + the timeline and not the original media files as well?

My plan is to have the editor get the footage to a point so that I can make final tweaks and then export the video. If I understand how the program handles these files properly (and maybe I don't :D ) I wouldn't really need the editor to even have the original media files.

I guess my final question would be, can I just delete the original files from the exported archive before uploading them to google drive?

Thank you very much in advance for your help and patience.

Mike

My method here is a 1TB Dropbox account. Considering that the project will be coming back to you, my choice would be to use the original media.

Fast Internet really helps.

Version 17 has a new Proxy process, however, that's designed to make this kind of thing much easier. It's still in beta, but it might be worth looking into.
