Davinci Resolve Only Importing Audio, No Video

PostThu Feb 11, 2021 9:03 am

Hi all,

So I've suddenly had a weird issue importing some video files from a client. When I import them, Resolve thinks they're just audio with no video. Not sure if there's a codec issue anywhere and I'd really rather not have to transcode everything with an external programme when Resolve's is fine but unfortunately it doesn't give me the option due it not thinking it has any video.

I'm using Windows 10 on 17.0B Build 18. Below is the output of one of the problematic video files in question:

You need the Studio version to play that format.

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.

And for Windows you need a recent GPU that supports decoding in hardware or it will be no joy in the timeline.
(Apple M1 supports 10 bit 422)
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

Studio 19.1.3
MacOS 13.7.4, 2017 iMac, 32 GB, Radeon Pro 580 + eGPU
MacBook M1 Pro, 16 GPU cores, 32 GB RAM, MacOS 14.7.2
SE, USM G3
