How do you delete a corrupted project?

PostThu Feb 11, 2021 1:35 pm

Hi all, I'm using DR 17 Beta 8 on Windows, and I have a project that is corrupted. It's not too bad - playback in the editor is a little funky and Resolve hangs for 1-5 seconds quite frequently [I have other projects that do not do this, which is why I suspect this one project is corrupted somehow].

I finished my final renders from it and wanted to move it to my "Completed Projects" folder in my database, but Resolve won't let me! It also won't let me delete it or rename it. What can I do?

I went into the left tab of the Project Manager window, where you can backup and restore your database, but really don't want to screw anything up, so I'm asking here first. The database restore wants to create a new database - I wanted to keep the old one but restore to it - is there a way to do this?

Also, can you just delete the folder on your hard drive that contains the Project?

Thanks!

We don't recommend directly messing in the Disk database folder structure. But...if you've found the project folder for that project, deleting it should make it go away in the Project Manager.

But very odd that something could be wrong with the project that would prevent it from being deleted by right clicking it in the Project Manager and selecting Delete. What happens when you do that?

The database Restore option is to Restore a database Backup. When you Restore a backup, it needs to be restored to a new database name. You can't restore it to the name of the original database that was backed up.
