After installing the start window appears reads searching for panel then disappears. Tried reinstalling after uninstalling several times. 16 works fine after uninstalling 17 and reinstalling.

MSI Laptop
I7 8750 Processor
16 Ram
GTX 1070 GPU

Still trying to install. uninstalled everything connected with Davinci and Blackmagic. Deleted VOL0,
All associated files. restarted, reinstalled 17. Tried several times. Never can get past the startup banner which appears and then shuts down.

I can uninstall 17 then reinstall 16 which installs and runs fine.

What can I be missing?

what specific GPU driver are you using?

In a File Explorer window, go to:

C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve

and run CaptureLogs

This will place a Resolve log file named similar to this on your Windows desktop: DaVinci-Resolve-logs-20181228_140434.zip (You may not see the .zip extension if your system is set to hide known extensions).

Then open Windows System Information and do a File - Save (Not a File Export), which will generate a .NFO file.

Place both those files on a file sharing site and provide links to the files here.
