BUG: "Show Current Clip with Handles" w/Nested Timelines

I just noticed a really annoying bug in 16.2.7 [UPDATE: This issue still occurs in 17.1b9] where if you have a shot with multiple grade versions on it, then you reveal the handles of the clips using "Show Current Clip with Handles", the grade version will switch itself to the earliest version in the version stack.

The same behavior occurs when you switch the grade to the correct version, then turn off "Show Current Clips with Handles".

This really screwed me up in my client grading session this week, as lots of grades ended up changing and reverting behind my back, and I couldn't figure out why. It was driving me absolutely batty!

Here's a screencapture of this bug in action. When I switch to show handles, the Version switches from "Version 11" to "Version 9".

And not to be a totally smug a-hole, but if Resolve had the ability to process effects through clip handles, I wouldn't have to switch into Handles view in the first place, and this bug wouldn't be as much of a problem as it currently is!

I tried but could not replicate your issue.

Hmm...digging into this further, I'm also not seeing this happen on other clips in my timeline. I'm not sure why it's only occurring on selected shots. I'll investigate further to see if there are any commonalities about the grades/clips that may be causing this.

I figured it out. This issue only seems to be happening on Versions applied to Nested Timelines, and not standard clips. And surprisingly enough, it also doesn't happen on Compound Clips, either.

I changed the topic title accordingly.
