Can't import s5 files in davinci resolve

PostFri Feb 12, 2021 10:18 am

Hello guys,
I shot some footage with my new Lumix s5 yesterday and when I imported the clips in davinci resolve 17 (free version) it gave me the media offline error although all my clips were online. The clips were shot in 4k 50p 8 bit. Has anyone had this problem?? Is it something with the free version? I have no problem using footage from my g85.
Thanks!

Might be one of the formats which are only decoded by the Studio version under Windows.
Are you sure it's 8 bit 4:2:0?
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

Free can only handle up to UHD (3840 x 2160).

4K (4096 x 2160) will require Studio.

The limit AFAIU is only on the timeline resolution, not the original material you import as media.

Yeah, that's possible. I have no way to test.

That's correct, if it's really 4K, just set the timeline to UHD. But first check with MediaInfo if it's really 8 bit 4:2:0.
