Problem with 17 Studio dongle and sd card

I just got the above dongle and sd card. Here are my problems:
1) When I put the dongle in the usb port, the computer makes the usual tone, but the dongle does not show up in the Windows 10 folder tree like other drives do. I unplugged 2 other devices from their ports thinking I may have too many devices plugged in, but that didn't help. I plugged the dongle into 4 different ports but that didn't help.
2) When I put in the SD card, I get 2 listings in the folder tree. One says BMC-WIN-LIN (J:) and has 6 folders in it. The other listing says SD/MMC (G:). When I click it, I get 2 windows that pop up. One says
"You need to format the disc in drive G before you can use it. Do you want to format it?" I did not say yes, for fear I may delete valuable info. The other box says "G: is not accessible. The volume does not contain a recognized file system. Please make sure that all required system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupted"
3) Where will I find the key to activate 17 Studio? Is it on the dongle somewhere?" Is 17 Studio on the dongle, or do I need to download it from the BlackMagic website.

I am very frustrated. I had to wait 9 weeks to get the order and now I can't use it yet.

Thank you.

Download the v17.0 public beta 9 from the support web site. Make sure you get the Studio version.
https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/suppor ... and-fusion

Install the software. The dongle is the key and Resolve will look for it when it launches and frequently during operation.

You wont need the SD card.

So, I have to put in the dongle every time I use DaVinci and keep it in the usb slot the whole time?
Thanks.
