Shared nodes not being copied inside Compound nodes

Hi, not sure if this is specific to just DR17 (I'm on b8), but let me explain a problem I'm having.

On a clip I'm grading, I've created a shared node, let's say 'Shared Node 1' inside a compound node. I then exit the compound node and create a copy Shared Node 1 in the main graph - albeit disconnected from anything. My goal is to use is as a global on/off switch for the node inside the compound by enabling/disabling it from the main clip graph. On the clip I set that up in - all works as expected. When I disable the solo Shared Node 1 in the main tree, it disables the Shared Node 1 inside the compound.

The problem is when I copy the grade to another shot. Inside the compound, it is no longer acts like a shared node - just a regular node. And disabling the Shared Node 1 in the main clip graph no longer has any effect on the one inside the compound.

I've created a simple .drx to show the problem I'm having -

If anyone could try it - apply it to a clip, test turning off the shared node. Then copy the grade to a new clip and try the same.

Any idea why this is happening?

Thanks!

Thanks, Jim. I'm not sure if it's a DR17 issue or if it's like that in the current v16 build. I only have 17 installed. I'll post this in the beta forum too.

Maybe think of it this way.

If it is broken in 16, it won't be fixed there.

So...17 is the correct forum for any question you have.

Shared nodes are ignored when copying & pasting Compound Nodes. The grade is copied but it is applied as a regular node. This affects all versions of Resolve that I have used.
