DVR Beta Update notes.

PostSat Feb 13, 2021 10:41 am

I have noticed that where there is a new version of DVR the notes seem to be for all mods to DVR17 not a delta between the versions as is industry norm. So I can't see the difference between Beta 17.1 and 17.2 etc
Normally they readme or would least the changes for each new delta. (with version number and date of issue of the version. This is standard practice for all software that I know.

The forum post at least has the changes since previous beta :

But it is not in the Readme notes you get with each download. Which is where it should be!
Normally the notes for each release package should be in a similar format to the forum post and part of the download.
You can't assume that all users are going to be on the forum. Though to be fair for a beta it is reasonable to say that but it is still bad practice not to put the notes in the download.

I'm unclear what you're referring to. In the update posts from Peter, the notes always apply only the current update.

The notes you get with the Beta 9 seem to be the full generic set for V17 not the same as the release by release set on the forum. (that you have to go hunting for).

Granted for Beta users the you might expect the users to be on the forum but you should not assume this. Standard good practice is to the itemised enhancements and bug fixes listed per release (and dated) are the readme with the installed software.

The readme is in the same folder as the Reference Manual/New Features Guide. On my Windows system it's under C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Documents.

The Resolve readme is always just a summary of the new features, system requirements and basic install info. Compare it to any Avid readme which includes a full list of bug #'s that have been fixed. http://resources.avid.com/SupportFiles/ ... v20.12.pdf
