I can't believe this scaling issue still exists

Guys, if I set a file to "fit" and I scale in the edit page, why do my power windows get offset like this? really frustrating, as I have to reconfirm this entire timeline and retract several shots. FYI, the picture is ghosted because it is an active job and its more important to see how my windows are off because the file is scaled. And I have been reporting this and other scaling issues for years.

16.2.8 resolution of 4444 footage is 3424x2202 25FPS on a 1920x1080 timeline. Clips set to "fit".
