PostgreSQL+NAS Woes... No "Connect" option in Resolve.

PostSat Feb 13, 2021 6:36 pm

My nerd and I setup the PostgreSQL on my QNAP TS-H886 (thanks Bob!) last night. Went fine.

He installed Resolve Studio with my spare key to test. We're both on recent Macs, both current macOS, both current Resolve as of last night. He is in AZ, I'm in CA. He connected to my network over VPN, then mounted the NAS share successfully. We both see the firehouse_collab database listed in Resolve from the NAS, and can successfully open the same project, and he sees my edits... but nothing is live or connected. User icon shows 0, no chat, no lit up corner in the project panel thumbnail even. I drop a clip in, save, he reopens, edit is there. That's as close as it gets right now.

SO..... what needs to happen for these 2 machines to get live project interaction?

If you want to connect to an existing database you don't click "New Database". Next to the "Backup" and "Restore" icons you should also have the "Connect Database" icon.

Looks like it moved in 17? All the other directions have me going to that button. Weird. I will update to just leave the other issue.

Could this be an M1 thing? I have my wife's new M1 MacBook Air here now for testing access as an assistant editor, and resolve studio on both, fully updated. As we were told, however, the M1 install is a totally different image. So, my 16" MBP is 17.0B build 33.... the M1 tester is on 17.1B build 18. I now get an explicit version conflict warning when trying to open a collab project from the M1. just a thought, may be unrelated.
