Hello,

I have a problem with da vinci. I have an image series which I created with another program. It's an animation which I rendered as an image series. So I have around 300 png-images which are named example001, example002, example003 etc.

In the past if I imported such an image series in davinci into the pool it was automatically recognised and imported as a video with every image beiing one frame.

With the newest version that doesn't seem to work anymore. Every image gets imported as an individual clip.

I even deactivated "show individual frames" under media. But it won't import as one video clip.

I am at the end of my wisdom. Can somebody please help me?

Try to put a period sign in front of the number.

But is there another way?

Unfortunately the programm in which I render only outputs image series in a numeration without a dot.

And it's a bit tedious to manually add a dot for several hundred images.

I am pretty sure it worked in the older versions of da vinci.

You might try adding an underscore as the last character in the Name field when exporting out the images. That would give you:

image_0001
image_0002
etc.

The problem is I can't change the output format of the programm I render the images in.

Even if I give the image series the name example_001 the images of the series are then named example_001001, example_001002 etc. and not example_001, example_002 etc.

Use the base name: example_

Or use one of the many free batch renamers. No need to do that by hand when you've got a computer!

Did you drag the first image into the media pool or did you drag the folder that contains the images? In my experience dragging the first image brings it in as a single image but dragging the folder brings it in as a clip made up of all the images.

Yes, that's what I was suggesting. Whatever name is used, make underscore the last character.
