Settings for smoother Playback
Hi community,
I have some trouble currently working on my fotage. Please find my hardware information below.
Background story:
2017:
Same Laptop
DVR 14
All fotage came from my Phone in 2560 x 1440 / 16:9 (3.7 MP) and got converted to MOV Video File 1920 x 1080 with BRORSOFT Video Converter.
I did some cutting/putting together, sometimes Colorgrading and a bit of sound, but nothing to savage and everything was nice and smooth with DVR.
2020:
Same Laptop
DVR 16
All fotage still from my Phone, but now in 4032 x 3024 / 4:3 (12 MP), still converted to MOV Video File 1920 x 1080 with BRORSOFT Video Converter.
I also run two monitors with that Laptop now, the 32" on HDMI, the 24" on VGA.
Trouble is trembling/distorted/shakey playback. No chance to do whatever while it is like that.
After I fixed all settings I could find online I downgraded from DVR16 to DVR14 since I don't use Fusion ect and 14 always worked well. Actually, it didn't help though.
Here is the list of all the GPU settings I've fixed so far:
So I think DVR should use the GTX 950M.
I also put DVR on "High Priority" in the TASK MANAGER, updated all drivers and tried PROXYmode half and quarter, lower TimelineFormat, switched off the Audio Waveformes (helped a bit but not much) and also Optimized Media.
Nothing helped.
Well I know that I'll have to gear up. But maybe somebody has another idea how to push my brave old warhorse once again, to make it perform like it did all the time untill last year?
Is the bigger footage causing all the trouble? But I still convert it into the same sized MOV format than I did before!
Or maybe the newest NVIDIAdriver is not going together with DVR 14? Which one should I use instead?
I need to finish some movies quick, so I would appreciate it enormously if you guys could help me with that
Tx a lot in advance
Simon
