Problem doing playback

PostMon Feb 15, 2021 8:07 pm

Hello Dwaine,

I've been having trouble keeping Davinci resolve up and running. At first, it worked no problem, but when I sped up a certain clip and went to do a playback, it freezes and shuts down and this keeps occurring every time I retry to do that playback. I'm pretty sure I know what my problem is. I believe its the amount of RAM and VRAM my laptop has. I only have 8gb of RAM and 128mb of VRAM. I saw a video saying to have at least 16gb of RAM and 2gb of VRAM. I guess I'm reaching out to just verify that is the main cause. I'll upload my logfile if it's any help. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

You are absolutely right. The lack of resources, especially the GPU, is most likely your problem. These are the minimum specs for Resolve.
Resolve Studio 19.1.3 build 7
Dell XPS 8700 i7-4790, 24GB RAM, 2 x Evo SSDs, GTX1060/6GB (572.16 Studio Driver), Win10 Home, Speed Editor, Faderport 1, Calibrated Eizo ColorEdge CS230 + BenQ & Samsung monitors for UI, Canon C100mk2, Zoom H2n.
