Re: Davinci Resolve won't open

PostWed Feb 17, 2021 8:56 am

Dwaine Maggart, I am trying to follow your instructions but I get lost in here: Then open Windows System Information and do a File - Save (Not a File Export), which will generate a .NFO file. Place both those files on a file sharing site and provide links to the files here. If you are a new Forum user, you may not be allowed to post URLs. If this happens, just put a space near the front of the URL, so the system doesn't think it's a URL.
Can you explain it in another way? Thank you!

Sarai

I assume you're running Windows 10?

Looking at an example instruction post,
a. capture DaVinci Resolve logs. File Explorer, go to this folder, run this tool, get a zip file on your Desktop. Simple.

b. get a system info file. Press the windows key and type "system" click on System Information. Now the instructions to create the NFO file are clearer in that post.

c. share the files. Place both the zip file and the nfo file on a file-sharing service - this may an app you use (like DropBox, OneDrive etc) or a website that allows you to upload and create a link. Posting this link here allows us to take a look at the files and check what is happening. New users are moderated on this forum as the post describes.

In addition, take a look at the minimum system requirements (linked to the readme for the latest version as of this post. You can close this version's readme and find other versions in the same support page.) and look at the drivers section in the FAQ post. Specifically, you may need to cleanly install manufacturer drivers for your system.

We can't really help you with 14. Please try 17.1, and if that has issues, please send another Resolve log, and we really do need the System Information .NFO file to be able to help.

Windows has an application called System Information. You need to run that, then select the File - Save menu, and that will generate a .NFO file with your system info.
