Proxy doesn't follow clip image orientation

PostWed Feb 17, 2021 11:14 am

Scenario: Clips from a GoPro are added and when the camera is mounted upside-down, some clips don't automatically orientate as they should. In these clips, we change the image orientation under clip attributes and when a proxy is not attached, the rotate correctly. However, when the proxy is linked or turned on, they remain upside-down.

Possible fault: It seems the clip attribute is not being applied to the proxy file.

The Attribute is changed before Proxy creation?

These proxies are created externally and then linked, rather than created from DR.

In fact, they're created in-camera as an LRV file, you can then rename the container as an MP4 and then it's a low res H264 ready to link as a proxy.

I'm thinking for what you want here, you'd have to use the intnernal proxy process and flip that image before creation.

That's is a possible workaround, yes, thank you. Unfortunately, it would require me to manually go through and re-encode the affected proxy clips which would be time-consuming.

However, I am assuming the expected behaviour would be that whatever clip attributes are applied, it would be applied to both the original and the proxy clip by default, not just the original clip?

I would defer to the programmers to say if what you're seeing is a bug in the Beta or by design.

I just don't know.
