Playhead bug - or feature??

I'm brand-new to Resolve and I'm having this issue within the editing panel:
Every time I hit the spacebar, the playhead jumps 2 seconds back and plays from there. This is extremely frustrating as I only ever want it to play from exactly where I've placed it, not from 2 seconds before!
I'm on a mac. Checked the keyboard shortcuts and re-assigned 'playback/pause' to the spacebar, just in case that might somehow fix it, but it hasn't made a difference.
Any ideas would be extremely appreciated. I really hope this is a feature that can be disabled, if not then I'll unfortunately be sticking with Premiere for editing.
