MacOS v17 Beta 9 stuck at "starting up"

PostWed Feb 17, 2021 11:54 pm

I just installed v17 Beta 9 on my MacBook Pro (16" 2019) and it started up just fine the first time. While it was running, I tried connecting to a PostgreSQL DB that's running on a separate machine within my local network. It seemed as if things were working but then got an error. I chose to "Ignore Once" so I could exit the error screen. I closed down Resolve shortly after this. Upon trying to reopen Resolve, it just sits on the loading screen saying "STARTING UP". I've tried using the uninstaller and re-installing and restarting the computer but nothing works, it never makes it past "STARTING UP".

Any advice on how to address this and get Resolve to fully start up would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I was able to fix this after pulling the resolve logs and digging though things. I found there was an entry in the "dblist.conf" file referencing the PostgreSQL database, even though there was an error when trying to create the new DB. I removed the line in that file referencing the Postgres DB and Resolve starts up again.

Send us a Resolve log.

Open Finder and navigate to /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve and run CaptureLogs. If you get an error, ignore it, the log file will still be written to your Desktop.
