Clips will not play in edit tab when multicam is selected

When using the EDIT tab and opening side by side windows and selecting "multicam" (or anything else) as my source, timeline clips will not play; whether I use the spacebar or the dropdown menu or the play button in the main frame, the playhead does not move. When I revert to a single main window, timeline will play.
My only option to edit multicam clips, at this point, is to manually drag the playhead through clips on a frame by frame basis.
If I switch to Fairlight or the Cut tab or the Color tab, all functions normally. The problem seems to occur only when I select any source option in the second window.
