I was working on a project in V16...chugging along with a few issues with that unmentionable codec. I did a big database/project backup and loaded V17. A few runs along it showed no major issue but I hadn’t considered how the cache was shielding me from sudden jeopardy. When the cached Fusion comps needed tweaking I realised how sever the problem was. Now DaVince VA17 crashed every time I launched. Through a variety of catching it in the brief window between launch and background render I was able to turn off processing and delete the offending clips, transcode and....so far so good.
The Fusion error console - maybe I am not reading it right. It tells me of errors but it doesn’t seem to say which comp or what input.
