2.18.21_Color Grading tips?

Im new to using Resolve and was wondering if there was a way where wheni up the value on my offset = entire image val

that it doesnt make the black cinematic bars brighter in value too?

Offset affects the entire image.

Lift, Gamma, Gain will affect shadows, mids and highlights respectively.

That said, give serious consideration to some Resolve training. The Beginner's Guide and Advanced Editing are an excellent groundwork to get you moving smoothly. And the Color Correction manual is a must if that's your passion.

In case the video you're working with has physical black bars, you can use the output blanking feature to limit what parts of the image are viewed or rendered on output.

So in a sense it's like putting black bars over the bars that came in with the video.

I dont believe the black bars are baked into the video,
becuase from my VLC thumbnail it only shows the video itself in its stretched format

Im using filmic pro on an iphone with anamorphic lens and there a feature that auto desqueezes inside filmic

is there a way to check if the black bars are baked?
cus if they arent then this shouldnt be happenign in the first place right?
