Text+ not working

I recently decided to start editing some videos of my stream to put on youtube. I saw that with Text+ I could add a border to the text to make it easier to read for any subtitles but whenever I try to use text+ It wont let me use any of the tabs (Layout, Transform, Shading, etc.) Ive used this program on a computer at work for something more job related and it works no problem.
