Whenever I try to add text to a video, it glitches the clips

PostSun Feb 21, 2021 2:13 am

Whenever I add text to a project, the clips all get glitched and show as a dark-rainbow glitch screen in the media page. The playback is also glitched, and if I try to export the project, the result is perfect audio but the screen is just green. Please help, as I cannot view playback and I have to restart my computer every couple minutes, and I can't even add text at all. This also happens sometimes when I try trimming individual clips. Thanks.

My crystal ball is broken. Please tell as all about your hardware.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

You have no dedicated GPU. Sorry, but your computer is underpowered for Resolve.
You may be able to work in a 1280 x 720 timeline, but with very limited effects.

Would buying an external GPU help?

I've switched to Hitfilm Express after Resolve stopped working, and it never glitches for me. Although it's less powerful, it's worth the change if Resolve glitches. Just a suggestion :D

If you edit professional movies however, Resolve is your best bet and you should get a GPU

A GPU will only help if you have Thunderbolt 3.
