Missing Projects and project folders

When I upgraded to DR 17 )B Build 32 I found that many of my projects and project folders were missing. Fortunately I've done database backups daily ever since that happened. I went to the project manager today to do a backup and again my projects and project folders are missing. I've uploaded screen shots of the project manager today and the project manager from a few days ago to show how many files are missing.

First: am I missing something obvious here in finding my missing files and second: how can I retrieve my old files and yet keep all the files I just finished and backed up today? Should I make a new database and attempt to combine the files from an older backup with those from today's backup.

Any suggestions on how to keep this from happening in the future?

Thanks Jim

One more question regarding database files. Is there anyway to see what is in each database or do I need to load several in DR then try to combine them to recover everything and get it into one database?

Thanks ,,,Jim

OK I've found wherein the problems. The files aren't missing, but when I open a folder in my database I see only what's in that folder and I can find no path to return to the screen that showed all the folders. I just found this by accident by restarting and my full database contents were again revealed in the project manager.

However if I open a folder as i said before I see no path backward so I can see all the files in the database.

I may be an idiot, but it totally escapes me. And i've never run into this until I updated to build 33 and now it's the default way to handle projects.

Thanks for your help, but I'm baffled and if I had any hair I probably would have torn it out by now..
Jim

That's odd. On Windows (V17 B9) I see a clickable path at the bottom of the project manager.

Yes. In the past I exactly the same thing. Now there is no path to move up.

I just realised I was still running beta 7 on this machine.

On beta 9 the location of the path has changed to the top.

OK...solved! The folders and projects are at the top of the screen and in a different hierarchy than in the past at the bottom of the screen. Just needed to double click on the item and it takes me back to more folders. In my opinion not very intuitive and why change the structure? I know, quit whining and be happy the program works so well.

thx...Jim :D
