Hi Everyone, I am a new member.
My name is Drew, I own a camping and bushcraft store in Fife, Scotland.
Over the last year or so I have been working hard to create content for my Youtube channel and teaching myself editing. I come from a sound engineer background so picking it up nicely as time passes. That being said I am no professional colourist or editor. My time as a sound tech has taught me that it's far more productive to work with the hands-on surface than a mouse and keyboard.
I would love to buy the DaVinci Resolve Advanced Panel. But, it's way out of a budget that I can justify for my current skill level. But, I can justify £3,000 to £4,000
I don't want a makeshift setup with a few different controllers, I know from reading many of you prefer that, but that's not for me.
What I would like to know is your thoughts on what is the better purchase not just for colour, but also for editing?
I love the format, size and shape of the Element panels. But, they seem a bit antiquated for the price tag. Also, I see there is no custom mapping available in Resolve, in the past, I have always found this to be a real issue in my workflow.
the resolve mini panel looks great but the layout is a bit more cumbersome than the layout of the element panel when I put it in my studio space. However, I can live with that if its the better choice for editing as well as colour.
I am struggling to make my mind up and would greatly appreciate your help in deciding. Alternatively, if you have a recommendation for another product that is an "all in one unit" I would happily look into that.
Thanks in advance everyone, I really appreciate the advice
