Video Clean Feed or FullScreen Preview

PostMon Feb 22, 2021 6:47 pm

I searched high and low but could not find a clear answer: is it really not possible to have a FullScreen Preview on an external display without additional hardware such as a Decklink or Ultrastudio? I would only need this for cutting, not color grading where this additional hardware makes sense due to the clean feed. I have a pretty decent 15" video monitor but Resolve Studio just won't let me activate it.

Are you sure you downloaded the Studio version and not the free version?

Click on the "Workspace" menu, choose "Video Clean Feed", and then select the monitor you want to view the full screen video on.

I have three monitors attached to two different video cards, and run the DaVinci UI on two of them using the "Workspace --> Dual Screen" option. The third monitor gets the video clean feed. Works great.

My monitors are all HD 1920 x 1200, it's possible there would be an issue if the monitor you wanted to run the clean feed on was a different size. You might try running the UI on the small monitor and the clean feed on the larger one to see if it makes a difference.

No problem here running DR on a smaller resolution for legibility and passing clean feed in UHD to a large hero monitor.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

What happened to the Video Clean Feed it is not in the 17 version now. I just got a monitor to use for this and now it no longer has this feature.

All monitors need to be on the one GPU.
Clean feed is available on the Studio version of 17

I'm on 17 Studio and Clean Feed works fine here.

Well, this is quite a pain to set up but I got it running. It will only work when turned on via the Fairlight page. Here are the settings:
