Studio 17B9 h.264 AMD encoder export settings

I am using DR 17B9 Studio in Windows with a RX 570 GPU. My source video is Gopro 2.7k, 2704x1520, 60fps, 60 Mb/s that I edit in Resolve for use on my plex server and YouTube.

With h.264 codec + Native encoder (CPU) when I restrict quality to 45000 bitrate, that is exactly the bitrate in my rendered video.

With h.264 codec + AMD encoder (GPU) when I restrict quality to 45000 bitrate, if I choose prefer quality preset and data level auto, I get 26.8 Mb/s bitrate. If I choose prefer quality preset and data level full, I get 32.7 Mb/s bitrate.

What settings do I need to get higher bitrates than I am getting when using the AMD encoder? Is there another export codec I should be using for GPU accelerated export that would duplicate the bitrate I am getting with h.264 codec + Native encoder?

Wow, I have to say that I am disappointed by 79 views and not a single comment on my post. Either I am the only person on this forum that is trying to use the h.264 AMD encoder option on the deliver page or my question is simply unworthy of a single response for some reason.

I can't comment on how Davinci does it or how windows work.

But if at all relevant all I can say is under linux when using the AMD hw encoding, you get very little control ... basically you just specify a few params, feed image and get a h264 bitstream out, the rest is hidden in AMD driver/hardware ... and not under the application's control.
