Cannot hide Media Pool Panel on Cut Page

On the Cut Page, I am unable to hide Media Pool, Sync Bin, Transitions, Titles, or Effects.
According to the Reference Manual, user should be able to by clicking it again or going to Workspace --> Show Panel in Workspace --> Unchecking it.
Even when unchecking it in Show Panel in Workspace, I cannot hide any of those panels to clear up real estate.
I've tried restarting the machine and software as well as selecting Reset UI Layout.
Is this a bug or intentional?
