Do my export settings match this broadcast protocol?

PostTue Feb 23, 2021 12:48 am

Hey everyone, just wanting to get a sanity check if you would.

I have a broadcast file protocol document (see below), but it's for Final Cut and I want to make sure my delivery settings will match what they are expecting. Screenshots of my attempt to match the protocol document in DaVinci are below.

I would like to know if you see anything missing or incorrect. One of my concerns is the bit rate information. Inside DaVinci I do not see a way to set the bit rate quality using the MXF / XDCAM video format. I know there is a way to do that when using the .mov or .mp4 video format, but it appears there is no way to set that for the MXF output. The protocol calls for a quality level of 50Mb/s (with a minimum of 35Mb/s per my conversation with the manager).

The second "major" issue is the framerate. The protocol specifies 29.970 but DV will only let me set 30. I expect this is the same thing, but want to be sure. Can someone confirm that for me?

Any help / guidance would be appreciated.

PS - I asked for a protocol document specific to DV, but this is what they sent me so it appears they have no specifics for DV.
