Audio Bug: Transitions don't stay active

PostTue Feb 23, 2021 4:04 am

If you have a fade in/out on any audio track and you MOVE the audio track, the fade is ignored, requiring it to be re-applied.

This same behavior occurs if there is a CROSS-fade between tracks; any readjustment to the track/s makes the fade deactivate.

This has been going on since v.16.

To be clear, this behaviour is with an audio transition effect rather than the Clip fade handles?

It doesn't seem to matter if the fade is done with the quick-tool (see pics) or if it's key-framed manually. Once the clip is moved at all the fades are ignored and have to be re-applied in whatever fashion.

Consider using the Clip's Fade handles for Fade In/Outs.

I can't duplicate this in Studio 17b9 for Windows. No matter what I do, the audio transition remains in place.

Doesn't address the bug, but what a fantastic workaround. Never used that tool before; super powerful, super-fast too. Love it.

Thanks for the tip.

JIM: Should have posted the specs: Late-2014 iMac/Catalina latest/17 Beta 9. Could be Mac-specific since audio codec handling is different from win-tel.

Possible. I recently posted about a Windows-only issue.
