Resolve 17 Crashes When Connecting to DB on External Drive

I am moving from an Intel MacBook Pro that is running 16, to a new MacBook Pro with an M1 processor and installed the latest Beta of 17.

I had created a database on an external disk, previously on the machine running Resolve 16. I disconnected the database, ejected the disk, plugged into my new MacBook Pro, went to connect the database. The dialog box comes up, I navigate to the location of the database, enter in a name, and when I click the connect button, BOOM, Resolve 17 Beta 9 just dies. When I reconnect the database in 16, it works fine.

Looking at the logs, the last line is "Driver not loaded Driver not loaded." I tried running it under Rosetta, and while it doesn't crash, I get the same error in a dialog box.

Is anybody else having this issue? Any suggestions? Am I missing some database conversion step somewhere?

Any help is appreciated.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I didn't find anything in the forums doing a search.

Thanks,
Mike

is this a disk database or postgres?
is the drive ExFaFat formatted?

i recommend connecting it to your old intel, then check it still works. Archive the database.
then restore the database and check it restores correctly.

now upgrade to 17 on the intel
Do not ever change the original 16 DB when asked to upgrade the DB.. just upgrade the restored DB.

now check that on the new v17 M1..

I figured it out and did exactly that. I got everything working and was logging on to say so, when I saw your response.

Even though I figured it out, I really appreciate your quick response. You all are the best.

Thanks,
Mike
